1) When do I contact an overseas removal company ?
A) Allow 4 months as advance preparation is the main factor. This will give you plenty of time to finalise your shipping or storage requirements.

2) How do I arrange a free no obligation home survey ?
A) Just click on Free home survey and complete the form and we shall contact you within 24hrs (Monday-Friday).

3) What happens after the home survey ?
A) After the visit a dedicated move manager will prepare an item count and calculate the cost based on dimensions and weight where applicable. The move manager will then recommend the most competitive mode of transport to produce value for money. A written quotation will then be provided to you.

4) What kind of insurance do Dolphin Movers provide?
A) We are authorised and regulated by the FSA (Financial Services Authority) and therefore we are able to arrange insurance cover for domestic and overseas moves.

It is recommended that your goods are insured and we can offer cover as follows:

1. Owner Packed: this is the basic insurance for owner packed items covering loss and theft but excluding damage and breakage.
The charge is 2.5% of the declared value of the goods.

2. All Risks: this covers all goods that have been packed by us or our agents and includes loss, theft, damage and breakage.
The charge is 3.5% of the declared value of the goods.

The minimum charge for insurance is £25.00. Insurance Premium Tax is payable in addition, at 5% of the premium. Detailed terms and conditions of the insurance cover will be provided to you.

5) How much do I insure my goods for ?
A) What ever the cost is to replace in the country of destination. Please be as detailed as possible when completing the Insurance Proposal form.

6) How much notice do I give to book my removal ?
A) Please give as much notice as possible so your move manager can book in the most suitable dates and prepare all relevant paperwork for your removal.

7) Who will be my contact at Dolphin Movers ?
A) You will be assigned a dedicated experienced move manager (MM) who will assist your every needs from begin right through to final delivery for a successful move.

8) How do I prepare for the move ?
A) Begin sorting your out your goods 1 week before our packers arrive. Attics, cellars, garages sheds all need to be cleared, appliances need disconnecting and fixtures and fittings dismantling, refrigerators and freezers require defrosting and out door equipment cleaning. Clearly label all items i.e. air/sea/storage/not going for our packers.

9) Are Dolphin Movers packers trained ?
A) Our packers undergo training at all times to maintain top quality level packing required by Dolphin Movers Ltd.

10) What happens on arrival at destination ?
A) When your consignment arrives at its destination port you will be contacted by our appointed agent to arrange customs / quarantine clearance and delivery to your new address. Once at the new address all items will be unpacked and packing materials be removed from your home. If storage is required before delivery this can be arranged with our agent. Our agent details will be given to you on the last day of packing.

11) When do I pay ?
A) If you have been approved credit facilities the move will be payable 30 days after invoice date. If credit facilities have not been arranged a deposit will be required on confirmation of acceptance followed by the balance after completion of packing.

12) What items are prohibited for shipping ?
A) The following items cannot be accepted for shipping or storage:-
Firearms, ammunition and explosives, hazardous items such as fireworks, toxic or poisonous substances ,swords, sabres, daggers, spears, switch blades, hatchets, items made from animals on the endangered species list (e.g. ivory), foodstuffs, plants, herbs & spices, dried flowers, bulbs, seeds, pine cones, pot pourri, soil, sand, straw & hay, unprocessed furs, skins and hunting trophies, alcohol, medicines & narcotic drugs, pornographic materials.

13) Can I pack myself ?
A) Yes, we can supply you with all the necessary materials but we do strongly recommend that you take advantage of our professional packing service.

14) What about my pets?
A) We would be more than happy to recommend a specialist "Pet Moving" company we regularly work with to assist in moving your family pet.

15) Do we provide storage?
A) Yes, we can provide storage in the UK before shipping your effects, or provide storage at your destination before delivery of your effects.
