Although we will take every care with your belongings, we recommend that all our customers take out relevant insurance.
Dolphin Movers are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Therefore we are able to arrange marine insurance cover underwritten by Fortis specifically designed to insure household goods, personal effects and motor vehicles for all overseas moves.
We offer two types of cover:
Owner Packed: This is the basic insurance for owner packed items covering loss and theft but excluding damage and breakage. The charge is 2.5% on the declared value of the goods which includes our mediation fee of 1.60% plus Insurance Premium Tax (IPT).
All Risks: This covers all goods that have been packed by us or our agents and includes loss, theft, damage and breakage. The charge is 3.5% of the declared value of the goods which includes our mediation fee of 1.75% plus Insurance Premium Tax (IPT).
The minimum charge for insurance is £25.00. Insurance Premium Tax is included within this cost. If you are interested in taking out this insurance, we will give you detailed terms and conditions.
Excess
The first 1% of the value of the consignment subject to a minimum amount of £100 and a maximum amount of £500 of every claim for loss or damage covered.

We also provide cover whilst your possessions are in storage. Storage insurance is charged at 0.5% of the declared value. Insurance Premium Tax is payable in addition, at 5% of the premium.
