Dolphin Movers specialises in the handling and packing of fine art, furniture and antiques. We have a dedicated packing crew trained and fully experienced in the careful handling of furniture fine art and antiques. Our antiques department are very professional and pride themselves on the service they offer to our clients worldwide. Our antiques department will work very closely with you or your client to tailor makes a package best suitable for you or their needs. They will advise what import regulations or permits are required for antiques globally and will arrange so for you. With over 15 years in the industry, the management team brings knowledge, experience, counselling along with competitive rates, which enables us to choose the highest quality of service and support around the world.
Collection, Packing & Handling
We will collect from anywhere within the United Kingdom whether it be direct from the manufacturer, antique fairs, antique markets, show rooms and auctions. Your fine art, furniture or antiques will then be carefully packed using specialised tried and tested packing materials. Our in house timber case and crate-making department will then carefully construct a made to measure case or crate to ensure that your goods arrive in perfect condition.
Worldwide door-to-door delivery
We have weekly groupage containers to and from around the globe to deliver your shipment. Our accredited and internationally approved agents have been carefully selected to perform this very important and final stage of the shipment. They will arrange the final delivery and careful unpacking of your consignment and ensuring that all used packing materials be disposed of. For all European destinations we are able to offer a regular door-to-door road freight service and for urgent deliveries our Express Air Freight Service can deliver your shipment globally within days to its destination.
Insurance
Dolphin Movers are authorised and regulated by the FSA (Financial Services Authority) and therefore we are able to arrange insurance cover for your items. Cover will commence from collection through to final delivery. Below are two different types of cover to choose from together with the premium rate:
1. Owner Packed: this is the basic insurance for owner packed items covering loss and theft but excluding damage and breakage. The charge is 2.5% of the declared value of the goods.
2. All Risks: this covers all goods that have been packed by us or our agents and includes loss, theft, damage and breakage. The charge is 3.5% of the declared value of the goods.
The minimum charge for insurance is £25.00. Insurance Premium Tax is payable in addition, at 5% of the premium.
Storage Insurance
We also provide cover whilst your possessions are in storage. Storage insurance is charged at 0.5% of the declared value. Insurance Premium Tax is payable in addition, at 5% of the premium.
